Chris Ortega - CEO of Fresh FP&A

FP&A Summit Speaker - Chris Ortega

“My name is Chris Ortega, CEO of Fresh FP&A and I have over 17 years experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, and financial leadership ranging from seed to startup to scale up to enterprise level companies.”

What will you be speaking about at our upcoming FP&A Summit?

“I’m excited to present at the FP&A Summit, CFO Guide: To be Disruption Ready. Finance and business transformation have already evolved. The new baselines that the business expects out of the office of the CFO have changed.”

“In this session, we'll cover the six key pillars of financial transformation, and how you can use these pillars to scale your finance organization.”

What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with after your talk?

“The key information that I'm looking for attendees to get out of this session is firstly, to understand that the modern value proposition for the office of the CFO and finance professionals has extensively changed."

"Secondly, to know that you have an active role in this (the evolution of the business baselines of what they expect out of the office of the CFO) – you have the direct application in being able to drive that change."

"And the third one is to give you real life specific use cases that you can go in and tactically execute in whatever role that you're a part of, whether you're a junior FP&A, all the way up to a CFO."

"Those are the key words of advice and key takeaways that I hope every attendee takes away from the conference.”

Lindsay Jespersen – CFO of Plex

FP&A Summit Speaker - Lindsay Jespersen

“My name is Lindsay Jesperson. I'm currently the CFO of Plex, the global streaming platform, and previously held leadership roles at Comcast, NBC Universal, Disney, and ViacomCBS.”

“As you can probably tell from those names, my career has been focused at the intersection of finance and creativity, specifically in media and entertainment, and the evolution of the technologies that are supported.”

Tell us a bit about your session at FP&A Summit

“I'm honored to be your keynote speaker and excited to discuss with you how our contributions as finance leaders play important and strategic roles in navigating transformation in this age of accelerated digitization and uncertainty.”

"I think we can all attest to the fact that finance as a function only continues to broaden. And our financial insights help drive not only executive-level decision making, but the full range of daily operations throughout a business's lifecycle, and ultimately, how well it competes in its market.”

"We know that today's macro shifts in global economies are very likely to impact us all in these next few months and throughout 2023 and 2024. And how will we prepare ourselves now will be indicators of how well we navigate all that's ahead.”

FP&A Summit Speaker - Philippe Dauba-Pantanacce

“My name is Philip Dauba-Pantanacce and I'm a Senior Economist and Global Geopolitical Strategist at Standard Chartered Bank based out of London.”

Tell us about your session, what nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with?

“My session will be about geopolitical risk and the global economic outlook, wondering if it will all be down to war and stagflation.”

“One key aspect of financial planning in this time is really how much political risk has increasingly become a whole part of any analytical framework.”

“I hope that this session will give you some keys to understand and apprehend the various challenges and uncertainties that we are all facing these days.”

Osman Belal – FP&A Director of GE Renewable Energy

FP&A Summit Speaker - Osman Belal

“My name is Osman Belal. I currently work in an onshore business at General Electric as a Financial Planning and Analysis Director. I have more than 10 years of experience in different roles in the finance function. Tell us a bit about your session at our upcoming FP&A Summit

“I look forward to talking in our November FP&A Sumit about future-proofing the finance function based on my experience.”

“When I think about the future-proofing the finance function, what comes to mind is how to leverage changes in the business environment driven by new technologies development, economic changes and changes in the workplace culture to improve the outcomes of the function.”

“We will discuss these areas of change among others, spreading change and addressing these changes hands-on.”

What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with after your talk?

“I hope after our discussion, you will have an increased awareness of changes occurring in the function’s environment and start to actively use them to improve the function’s ability to meet its goals of decreasing transaction costs and providing accurate and relevant information for decision making.”

And I've also worked at some non-profits, all in different varying finance roles.”

What will you be speaking about at our upcoming FP&A Summit?

“Change is hard and not only on you as the leader, but on your team. And the best finance leaders rise to the occasion and lead from the front lines during times of change.”

“You face changes in tech, deliverables, and people coming and going from the team. And so what I hope to do is provide some tips that have stood the test of time, so you can feel more confident leading through change, so your team feels valued along the way.”

“The next change is waiting around the corner, and I would love for you to feel prepared to lead through that.”

As a finance leader, what do you think is going to be hot next year?

“I'm most intrigued by all the emerging FP&A tools that's just kind of the world that I live in. But I'm really curious to see how automation continues to embed itself deeper and deeper into the FP&A and finance function.”
